The electronics industry in Japan and South Korea demands exceptionally high standards for transparent PC housings and optical components. These applications are extremely sensitive to haze or turbidity caused by the introduction of additives, which must not compromise the material's optical clarity while meeting stringent flame-retardant requirements.
To address this challenge, EVERSUN has developed SFR-SI908, a phenyl-type silicone flame retardant synergist. Featuring high phenyl content, good refractive index matching, and excellent thermal stability, SFR-SI908 exhibits outstanding compatibility with transparent PC. When combined with sulfonate-based primary flame retardants, SFR-SI908 delivers efficient synergistic flame retardancy while preserving the optical properties of the PC substrate.

(Relationship between Si908 Loading and Transmittance/Haze for Transparent PC)
The following table compares the optical performance of optical-grade PC with and without SFR-SI908:
| Performance | ParameterPure PC (Reference) | PC + SFR-SI908 |
| Transmittance | 91.58% | 91.28% |
| Haze | 0.40% | 0.62% |
( The above data is from EVERSUN laboratory and is for reference only)
Based on the above data, the Transmittance Retention Rate is calculated as follows:
Transmittance Retention Rate = (Transmittance after addition / Transmittance of pure PC) × 100% = (91.28% / 91.58%) × 100% ≈ 99.67%
These results provide strong evidence that SFR-SI908 achieves flame-retardant modification with negligible impact on the optical properties of the PC substrate. The product is particularly well-suited for Japanese and Korean electronic housings and optical components that demand exceptional clarity and surface quality, offering a highly competitive EVERSUN flame-retardant solution for high-end transparent PC applications
